Paul-Henri Gagnon, Chairman

Paul-Henri Gagnon, President of PHG Capital Inc. and a corporate director, made his career in corporate financing at three of Québec’s major financial institutions: Solidarity Fund QFL (7 years), Investissement Québec (18 years) and BMO (15 years). Over the course of his career, he has had an opportunity to participate in numerous financing arrangements and to contribute to the birth and development of a wide variety of companies across all sectors of the economy and all Québec regions. He is currently a financial advisor and a member of several boards of directors. He has had seats on the boards, and board committees, of over 20 corporations and not-for-profit organizations, including Tafisa Canada, TransForce, Canadian Helicopters (as chairman of the board) and Club Richelieu.

Lucien Bergevin, Director

Corporate manager Lucien Bergevin launched his career with the Desjardins Group in 1968, eventually becoming general manager of the Caisse populaire Châteauguay and then Vice-President, Regional Operations of the Fédération de Montréal et de l’Ouest-du-Québec. In June 1995, he joined Desjardins Venture Capital, formerly known as Société d’Investissement Desjardins, as Senior Vice-President, Administration and Network.

Pierre Chartrand, Director

Pierre Chartrand has served as legal counsel and Assistant Secretary at Montréal-based Société de développement industriel du Québec (later renamed Investissement Québec) from 1997 to 2007, as Assistant Secretary of S.D.I. and Investissement Québec, and as Secretary of Investissement Québec’s Credit Committee. He was a member of the team of Québec government advisors accompanying the Government of Canada’s delegation to the World Trade Organization hearings in Geneva in July 2000 at the time of the dispute between Canada and Brazil (Bombardier-Embraer).

Daniel Laporte, Director

Daniel Laporte has been active in the venture capital industry for almost 30 years; since June 2004, he has held the position of Senior Vice-President, Turnaround and Special Mandates at the Solidarity Fund QFL. Before assuming this position, he was Senior Vice-President, Technology Investments, for five years. He was one of the founding directors of Réseau Capital and served as its vice-president from 1988 to 1993. He was also a member of the board of the Canadian Venture Capital Association (CVCA) from 2001 to 2003.

Geneviève Morin, Director

Geneviève Morin has been Director, Finance and Corporate Development at Fondaction since February 2000. She also holds the positions of Assistant to the Secretary of the Board, Treasurer of the Board, Secretary to the Executive Committee and member of the Investment Committee. When the fund was launched in January 1996, Ms. Morin first served as Coordinator, Administration and Finance. Before joining Fondaction, she spent 12 years with the various Desjardins Group federations.
