With over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, including 15 years in various management positions with portfolio management companies, Jocelyne Marquis has acquired extensive experience with banks, trust companies, portfolio management companies and brokerage firms. A consultant since 2005, she has specialized in the evaluation of securities litigation cases involving investors and various financial market players. As an expert, she has drafted many expert reports, acted as a witness and worked closely with prosecutors. As a consultant for institutional clients, she has carried out a number of mandates to restructure portfolio management, including an analysis of service offers; she now provides a service to monitor and assure the compliance of those portfolios. Jocelyne Marquis is the founder and president of Marquis Expertises inc.
Paul-Henri Gagnon, President of PHG Capital Inc. and a corporate director, made his career in corporate financing at three of Québec’s major financial institutions: Solidarity Fund QFL (7 years), Investissement Québec (18 years) and BMO (15 years). Over the course of his career, he has had an opportunity to participate in numerous financing arrangements and to contribute to the birth and development of a wide variety of companies across all sectors of the economy and all Québec regions. He is currently a financial advisor and a member of several boards of directors. He has had seats on the boards, and board committees, of over 20 corporations and not-for-profit organizations, including Tafisa Canada, TransForce, Canadian Helicopters (as chairman of the board) and Club Richelieu.
Daniel Laporte has been active in the venture capital industry for almost 30 years; since June 2004, he has held the position of Senior Vice-President, Turnaround and Special Mandates at the Solidarity Fund QFL. Before assuming this position, he was Senior Vice-President, Technology Investments, for five years. He was one of the founding directors of Réseau Capital and served as its vice-president from 1988 to 1993. He was also a member of the board of the Canadian Venture Capital Association (CVCA) from 2001 to 2003.
Geneviève Morin has been Director, Finance and Corporate Development at Fondaction since February 2000. She also holds the positions of Assistant to the Secretary of the Board, Treasurer of the Board, Secretary to the Executive Committee and member of the Investment Committee. When the fund was launched in January 1996, Ms. Morin first served as Coordinator, Administration and Finance. Before joining Fondaction, she spent 12 years with the various Desjardins Group federations.
Mr. St-Aubin is Vice President, Investment Funds & Strategic Support with Desjardins Venture Capital.
Mr. St-Aubin, who joined the Desjardins Venture Capital team in 2000, boasts 20 years of corporate financing experience. Within the Desjardins Group, he has held a number of positions in the field of development capital, including Investment Advisor and Regional Manager for Greater Montréal for Desjardins Venture Capital.
As Vice President, Investment Funds & Strategic Support, his main responsibilities encompass government relations with respect to the strategic development of Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins. He ensures the Desjardins Venture Capital’s market positioning in the industry as well as the promotion of shareholder-employee cooperatives. Mr. St-Aubin has also played an active role in the creation of investment funds including Fonds capital croissance PME and Fonds d’investissement pour la relève agricole (FIRA).
Mr. St-Aubin holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Université du Québec à Montréal as well as an MBA from Université de Sherbrooke. He sits on a number of corporate boards of directors, particularly for FIER Partners and FIRA, as well as on the Développement international Desjardins investment committee.
